Troubleshooting common faults of grounding resistance tester


Common fault 1: Check that the battery voltage is normal and the measurement data is inaccurate when the ground resistance is measured. The error is large.


Cause of failure: This failure is usually caused by a failure in the detection signal filtering and adjustment circuit. It is usually caused by damage to the filter inductance.

Troubleshooting method: Replace the inductor and it can be repaired immediately.


Common fault 2: Check that the battery voltage is normal. However, ground resistance measurement cannot be performed.


Cause of failure: This failure may be due to switching power supply, AC/DC conversion. And the constant current output part is faulty.


Troubleshooting method: measure the C port with a frequency meter. Without Hz AC output, check this part of the circuit step by step. Find the faulty part from the output transformer, switch tube, oscillating circuit, etc., and replace it with new parts to repair it.


Common fault three: The measurement data fluctuates when the ground resistance tester is measuring. The time is inaccurate on time.


Failure reason: This phenomenon is usually no failure. The problem is caused by the poor connection between the resistance meter and the ground stake (auxiliary electrode) and the tested grounding body. It is common that the three connecting wires are disconnected or the joints are loose, resulting in poor conductivity. If it is found that the wire is disconnected from the joint metal pieces at both ends during use. It must be re-soldered with solder to ensure the normal measurement work of the ground resistance tester.


Common fault 4: The pointer of the ground resistance tester does not move. Or the pointer of the meter head does not move when measuring the battery voltage and ground resistance tester. The cause of the failure: It may be caused by the burning of the meter head or the disconnection of the connection meter head and the circuit board. This is also caused by the excessive vibration of the ground resistance tester during use or transportation.
