The transformer DC resistance tester is a new instrument designed to measure the DC resistance of large-capacity transformers. Familiar with the operating points of the transformer DC resistance tester:

 

1. After using the transformer DC resistance tester, the battery in the machine should be charged and maintained in time. Don't wait until the battery is completely discharged before charging. At least 10% of the power should be maintained, which is more friendly to the device itself.


2. When not in use for a long time, the battery pack in the instrument should be charged and maintained. Generally, charge for about 14 hours until the "full" indicator lights up, then remove the battery and wrap it with insulators. Do not directly contact the air to avoid electric current. Drain and prevent rust.


3. During the DC test, if the undervoltage indicator is on, stop using the DC power supply immediately and change to the AC power supply for testing.


Precautions for transformer DC resistance tester:


In the measurement process, in addition to strictly complying with the electrical safety regulations and equipment test regulations, special attention should also be paid to:

 

1) Measure when the coil temperature is stable, and the temperature difference between the upper and lower parts of the transformer tank should not exceed 3°C;


2) Due to the inductance of the transformer coil, the charging current during measurement is not stable. You must count after the current is stable. If necessary, take measures to shorten the charging time.


3) Minimize the wire contact resistance in the test circuit. The transformer taps in operation are often affected by dirt such as oil film and make their contact poor. Generally, it is necessary to switch several times before measuring to avoid misjudgment.


4) When measuring the low-voltage side of the transformer, all personnel should keep a proper safe distance from the high-voltage side.


5) The transformer DC resistance tester should avoid strong vibration, direct sunlight and the influence of magnetic field during transportation, storage and work. When storing the instrument, pay attention to the ambient temperature and humidity, and place it in a dry, ventilated, and non-corrosive place. It is advisable to avoid damp, rain, or exposure to the sun. When using it, handle it with care, and do not drop it.
