Principle of zinc oxide arrester tester

Zinc oxide arrester tester is used to check the power system of 10kV and below: gapless metal oxide arrester (MOA) internal defects of poor contact between the valve plates (can replace the partial discharge instrument within a certain range), and measure the DC reference voltage of the MOA (U1mA) and leakage current (Id) at 0.75U1mA.


Click the detection button of the zinc oxide arrester tester to start the DC high-voltage power supply. The program controller will sample from FL to generate a constant current of 1mA and pass through the MOA. After FY, the U1mA value will be automatically measured, and then the program controller will issue instructions to generate A constant voltage of 0.75U1mA is applied to the MOA arrester, and then the current Id flowing through the MOA arrester is measured from the FL. The two values U1mA and Id are displayed on the two meter heads with LED numbers, and can be stored for a long time for reading. Finally, the program controller of the zinc oxide arrester tester turns off the DC high-voltage power supply, automatically discharges, and sends out safety instructions. The zinc oxide arrester tester has completed the test.

Safety operation rules of zinc oxide arrester tester:


1. Before the test, firmly ground the zinc oxide arrester tester shell.


2. Connect the test product: Insert one end of the lightning arrester into the high-voltage (H end) seat of the zinc oxide arrester tester, and clamp the other end with the low-voltage line and the L end. Or use a plug to lead the high-voltage lead out of the machine to connect to the test product, but it must be ensured that the high-voltage lead has sufficient insulation to the ground.


3. Turn on the power, press the power switch, and press the test button. After the internal self-inspection, the alarm light is on, the discharge light is on, and the indication value of the two meter heads is zero (±1 word).


4. Reset: Press the reset button once, the alarm light goes out, and the zinc oxide arrester tester enters the detection standby state.


5. Detection: Press the detection button for about 1 second and then release it, and the zinc oxide arrester tester will automatically complete all MOA detection items.


The results are shown below:


 ①If the alarm light is on, it indicates that there is a bad contact defect inside the MOA, or the external wiring is not strong. After the discharge lamp is on, check the external wiring, or press the reset button after replacing the test product to perform the next test.


②If the alarm light is not on, it indicates that the internal contact of the MOA is good, the zinc oxide arrester tester will automatically switch to measure UlmA and Id, and the test results will be memorized and displayed on the two meter heads respectively. After the discharge lamp lights up, the test ends, and the test wiring is removed. Or replace the sample for the next test.


③Continuous detection, repeat step 5 according to the test procedure of zinc oxide arrester tester.
