Next, let's look at circuit protection for oil-immersed transformers.

1, for the factory of the total step-down substation of the high voltage side of 35kV and above the main transformer, should also be installed over current protection, current speed off protection and gas protection. Overload protection should also be installed if overload is possible. However, if the capacity of the individual transformer is 1000 OKV-A and above, and the capacity of each transformer is 630 OKV-A and above, the longitudinal differential protection should be installed in place of the current breaker protection.

2. For the main transformer of the workshop side substation, its high voltage side is 6-10kV, and it is usually equipped with time-limited over-current protection. If the over-current protection action time is greater than 0.5-0.7s, then the current current off protection should be installed. For oil-immersed transformers with capacities of 800KV-A and above and for oil-immersed transformers in workshops of 400kV•A and above, the required gas protection shall be installed.

3. For transformers with A capacity of 400kV•A and higher, overload protection should be installed according to possible overload conditions when multiple units are operated simultaneously or at one time and used as backup power for other loads. In case of minor failure, overload protection and gas protection are applied to the signal, while in case of serious failure, other protection (including gas protection) is usually applied to trip.
