Precautions for Partial Discharge Detector


1. Ground the ground terminal of the instrument first, and then perform the operations described below; when disconnecting the connection, disconnect the ground terminal.


2. Before the experiment, the insulating surface (especially the high voltage end) of the test product should be cleaned.


3. The connection points should be in good contact, especially the high-voltage end, do not leave sharp contacts, and the high-voltage wire should be as thick as possible to prevent corona.

4. The input unit should be as close as possible to the test product, and the grounding should be reliable, and the grounding wire should be braided copper tape. The host must also be grounded to ensure safe use.


5. The test circuit is as compact as possible, that is, the high-voltage connection is as short as possible, and the area of the test circuit is as small as possible.


6. When conducting partial discharge tests of 110kV and above, the suspended metal objects around the sample should be properly grounded.


7. Taking into account the hysteresis effect of the partial discharge of the oil-immersed test sample, do not apply a high voltage exceeding the partial discharge test voltage to the test sample a few hours before the partial discharge test.


8. The instrument should be well protected to prevent corrosion, prevent moisture, avoid sunlight, and stay away from strong magnetic field sources during testing. The instrument should be protected from strong vibration, and anti-vibration measures should be taken during transportation.


9. When conditions permit, the test product can be placed in a shielded room, which can effectively prevent interference.


10. Before each test, after the instrument is connected, the instrument should have a warm-up time of not less than 5 minutes.


11. It is strictly forbidden to plug and unplug the interface when power is on; when plugging and unplugging the interface, the instrument is strictly prohibited from being turned on, and the switch should be turned off before plugging and unplugging the interface.


12. After the square wave is calibrated, be sure to remove the wire to avoid high voltage breakdown during the test, and then turn off the power switch.
