The transformer is a device that uses the principle of electromagnetic induction to change the AC voltage. The main components are the primary coil, the secondary coil and the iron core (magnetic core). The main functions are: voltage transformation, current transformation, impedance transformation, isolation, voltage stabilization (magnetic saturation transformer), etc. According to the purpose, it can be divided into: distribution transformers, fully sealed transformers, combined transformers, dry-type transformers, oil-immersed transformers, single-phase transformers, electric furnace transformers, rectifier transformers, etc.


1. The transformer insulation withstand voltage tester makes an abnormal sound


There are many reasons for the abnormal sound of the transformer. Different sounds represent failures in different places. The following editor will introduce you to several common ones.


1. Buzz


If the transformer makes a buzzing noise, it is caused by the excessive carrying of the transformer. This situation is not a big deal, but if it is carried for a long time, the life of the transformer will be greatly reduced.


2. Squeak


If the transformer makes this sound, it means that there is a short circuit inside our transformer. At this time, we should turn off the voltage transformer and send it for repair.


2. Transformer oil injection


Oil injection This is because we don't usually maintain the transformer, so a serious fault inside the transformer leads to rapid aging of the transformer, which will cause the transformer to spray oil. If the transformer is sprayed with oil, then we must be careful. If we are not careful, it may cause the transformer to explode. So when we find that the transformer is spraying oil, we should turn it off immediately and send it to repair.

3. The temperature of the transformer insulation withstand voltage tester is too high


There are many factors that cause the transformer temperature to be too high, but the common ones are damage to the radiator or short circuit of the transformer. These two points are common. If we encounter this situation, then we must pay attention because if the temperature of the transformer is too high for a long time, it will seriously damage the transformer, and it may also cause an explosion.


Since the transformer generally needs a long time to be repaired after being impacted by a short circuit, two measures can be taken to prevent the transformer from being damp:


One is to buckle the transformer cover before the end of work every day, and use a vacuum pump to vacuum the transformer to remove free water from the surface of the transformer body. When the work starts the next day, use dry nitrogen or dry air to release the vacuum. Generally, the transformer is under maintenance. The hot oil cycle can be put into operation directly after 24 hours;


The second is to take rain-proof measures on the transformer every day after work is finished. After all the work is completed, the transformer is dried by hot oil spray. This method generally takes 7-10 days.


In addition, after a short-circuit fault occurs in a high-voltage test transformer, in addition to testing the transformer in accordance with conventional items, the test results of transformer oil, gas in the gas relay, winding DC resistance, winding capacitance, and winding deformation measurement should be combined to determine and analyze the fault. Properties, and check the deformation of the winding, the displacement and looseness of the iron core and clamps, and then determine the treatment plan for the transformer and the preventive measures that should be taken. When the winding is severely deformed due to the short-circuit fault of the transformer and the winding needs to be replaced, attention should be paid to the reassembly of the iron core chip, the drying of all insulating parts, the treatment of transformer oil and the overall drying of the transformer.
