Application of wires and cables

1. Power system

The wire and cable products used in the power system mainly include overhead bare wires, busbars (busbars), power cables (plastic cables, oil paper cables (mostly replaced by plastic power cables), rubber sheathed cables, overhead insulated cables), branch cables (replacing some busbars), magnetic wires, and electrical equipment wires and cables for power equipment.  

2. Information transmission system

The wires and cables used in information transmission systems mainly include local telephone cables, television cables, electronic cables, RF cables, fiber optic cables, data cables, electromagnetic wires, power communication or other composite cables.  

3. Mechanical equipment, instrumentation systems

This section is applicable to almost all products except for overhead bare wires, but mainly includes power cables, electromagnetic wires, data cables, instrument cables, etc.  

Wire and cable products are mainly divided into five categories

1. Bare wires and bare conductor products

The main features of this type of product are: pure conductor metal, without insulation or sheath layer, such as steel core aluminum stranded wire, copper aluminum busbar, electric locomotive line, etc; The processing technology mainly involves pressure processing, such as melting, rolling, drawing, twisting/compression twisting, etc; The product is mainly used in suburban areas, rural areas, user main lines, switchgear, etc.  

2. Power cable

The main features of this type of product are: extruding (winding) an insulation layer outside the conductor, such as overhead insulated cables, or twisting several cores (corresponding to the phase line, neutral line, and ground line of the power system), such as two core or more overhead insulated cables, or adding a protective sheath layer, such as plastic/rubber sheathed wires and cables. The main process technologies include drawing, twisting, insulation extrusion (wrapping), cabling, armor, protective layer extrusion, etc. The different process combinations of various products have certain differences.  

The product is mainly used for the transmission of strong electrical energy in power generation, distribution, transmission, transformation, and power supply lines, with high currents (tens of amps to thousands of amps) and high voltages (220V to 500kV and above).

3. Wires and cables for electrical equipment

The main features of this type of product are: a wide variety of specifications, a wide range of applications, and a high usage voltage of 1kV and below. In the face of special occasions, new products are constantly emerging, such as fire-resistant cables, flame-retardant cables, low smoke halogen-free/low smoke low halogen cables, anti termite, anti mouse cables, oil resistant/cold resistant/temperature resistant/wear-resistant cables, medical/agricultural/mining cables, thin-walled wires, etc.  

4. Communication cables and optical fibers (brief introduction) With the rapid development of the communication industry in the past two decades, products have also developed at an astonishing speed. From simple telephone and telegraph cables in the past to thousands of pairs of voice cables, coaxial cables, optical cables, data cables, and even combination communication cables.  

The structural dimensions of such products are usually small and uniform, and high manufacturing accuracy is required.  

5. Electromagnetic wire (winding wire) (Our company currently does not produce this type of product, so we will provide a brief introduction)

Mainly used for various motors, instruments, etc.

The derivative/new products of wires and cables are mainly produced by using new materials, special materials, changing product structures, increasing process requirements, or combining different varieties of products due to different application scenarios, application requirements, equipment convenience, and requirements for reducing equipment costs.  

Using different materials such as flame-retardant cables, low smoke halogen-free/low smoke halogen-free cables, anti termite, anti mouse cables, oil resistant/cold resistant/temperature resistant cables, etc;  

Changing product structure, such as fire-resistant cables;  

Improve process requirements such as medical cables, etc;  

Combination products such as OPGW, etc;  

Convenient installation and reduced equipment costs, such as prefabricated branch cables.
