How to use the ground resistance tester to measure correctly?


In order to get a good connection, the embedded conductive cable must be truly grounded. In order to confirm whether the grounding system we installed is reliably grounded, that is, whether there is resistance between the grounding resistance and the ground.


However, in the case of unclear 100% grounding, the maximum reference value comes from the resistance of the grounding resistance to the earth, which is less than 2 ohms.

How to use the grounding resistance tester to measure correctly? How to know whether the installed resistance value or grounding resistance reaches the reference value, so it can be said that the installed grounding system is correct. To find this, a ground resistance tester must be used to measure the ground resistance of the installation. This measuring instrument is generally called a ground resistance tester or ground resistance measuring device. How to use a grounding resistance measuring instrument to confirm the condition of the grounding system installed?

Connect with the yellow connector hole of the measuring instrument, and connect the other end with an available rod/iron rod, which is inserted into the ground. Try to keep the iron rods or the distance between the iron rods at about 5m-10m. Similarly, the distance between each iron rod/iron rod and the measured grounding point or the ground must also be between 5m-10m. The cable is green (e), the cable is green (e), connected to the green connector hole of the measuring device (ground tester), and the other is connected to the conductor cable of the grounding point we installed.


Then, turn the selector of the measuring device (ground resistance tester) to compare the measurement of the highest value (scale 100Q), and press the test button.


When the measurement pin has not moved or is small, rotate the selector to change the small scale unit (10Q). When the measuring needle is still inching, you can use the small measuring scale (1Q) to try again to get a more correct measurement result. Calculation result: On the 1Q measurement scale, when the measuring needle moves No. 2, the measurement result is: 2*1Q=2Ω. (Good and correct contact resistance is the standard value)
