Inspection of oil-immersed transformer

time:2021/9/15   source:华天电力  reading:985 time

It is best to have a professional perform all inspections on oil-immersed transformers. Having experienced on-site maintenance personnel will ensure that all potential problems are discovered and resolved. You can save time by outsourcing inspections instead of training internal staff to complete this complex work. In addition, since employees modify machine parts that they are not familiar with, it may cause injury to workers.

During the visual inspection, the maintenance personnel you hire will investigate oil leaks, incorrect valve positioning, bushings, radiators, etc. Your radiator and fan should be kept clean and free of dust or debris so that the air blows in the right direction. Fan blades should also be properly calibrated to ensure that they do not inhale warm air after passing through the radiator.

Infrared cameras can be very helpful in detecting less obvious warning signs related to problem areas (such as the aforementioned blockage of the radiator). If you are performing infrared temperature analysis, you should perform this step after completing all previous maintenance and testing to ensure that any disconnected connections are rebuilt as-is. Your transformer should show a thermal pattern with lower bottom temperature and higher top temperature-this change may indicate overheating or other temperature issues.

Your technicians may conduct inspections from outside. They will analyze the external properties of the transformer, and if they find signs of abnormal operation, they will conduct an in-depth study through internal inspections. This process may require the oil to be drained and stored, which may be difficult and dangerous for inexperienced workers to try alone. It is also time-consuming, which pulls the labor force away from other areas where it is needed. If you need to perform these complex tasks, always choose outsourced labor.

Other system components that may be analyzed during the inspection process include:

Oil-proof sealing system: The oil-proof sealing system prevents air and other pollutants from entering the inside of the transformer, thereby preventing the accumulation of sludge.

Auxiliary fuel tank sealing system: The auxiliary fuel tank provides an additional component between the fuel storage tank and the main transformer tank.

Winding temperature thermometers: Although they are not always accurate, they can read the hottest temperature in the winding.

Air pressure control components: Many transformers contain a three-part air pressure control system, which is composed of high and low pressure regulators, oil pans, oil conservator and other components.
