Discharge test steps of battery charge and discharge tester:

(1) Fully charge the battery first.

(2) Adjust the specific gravity of electrolyte to 1.215~1.2200

(3) The temperature of the electrolyte should not be lower than 10℃ and not higher than 30℃.

(4) Measure the voltage, specific gravity, temperature, total voltage of the battery pack and indoor temperature of each cell.

(5) Turn on the discharge resistance switch to monitor and adjust the discharge current value.

(6) Every hour thereafter, check and measure the voltage, specific gravity, temperature, total voltage and discharge current of each battery pack.

Monitoring of discharge voltage during discharge test of battery tester

In order to prevent excessive discharge of the battery, special attention must be paid to monitoring the limit voltage of the battery during the discharge test. Therefore, during the discharge test, the Swiss voltage of each battery should be measured continuously, and it should not be lower than its limit value. If only the terminal voltage of each battery is measured, it will take a long time, and the voltage will drop quickly when the end of discharge is approaching, which will easily cause over-discharge. Therefore, in the discharge test, in addition to measuring a single voltage, the total voltage of the battery pack should also be monitored at the same time to prevent excessive discharge of the battery.

In order to monitor the total voltage of the battery pack, first calculate the total discharge limit voltage of the battery pack according to the discharge limit voltage value of each battery, and then mark the calculated total voltage value on the discharge voltmeter. In other words, if the battery pack has 55 cells, the total discharge limit voltage is 1.8*55=99 volts. Therefore, draw a red line at the “volt” mark of the discharge voltmeter. When the total voltage drops to close to the red line, it means that the voltage of each battery has fallen to the limit voltage value, or the voltage of individual batteries has fallen below the limit value. Stop the discharge immediately.

In the process of discharging the battery pack, when the voltage of most single cells has not reached the limit value, and the voltage of individual batteries has fallen below the limit value, the discharge should be stopped immediately. Otherwise, it will cause serious damage to the battery whose voltage is lower than the limit value prematurely. Therefore, when discharging, the total voltage must be monitored, and the terminal voltage of each battery must be measured at the same time. The two must be closely matched.
