Operation steps of DC high voltage generator

The DC high voltage generator is an instrument for DC high voltage test and leakage test of electrical equipment, and it has a very wide range of applications. Here is an introduction to the operation steps of the DC high voltage generator.

1. Before use, make sure that the instrument is intact and the wiring is correct. (When performing a capacitive load test, be sure to connect the on-line current resistance)

2. Place the pressure doubler of the chassis in a suitable position, and connect the power cord, cable and grounding wire respectively. The protective grounding wire, working grounding wire, and the grounding wire of the discharge bar should be connected to the grounding wire of the test product (that is, one-point grounding). It is strictly forbidden to connect the ground wires in series with each other. For this reason, DHV dedicated grounding wire should be used.

3. Place the power switch in the off position, and check whether the potentiometer is in the zero position. The overvoltage protection setting value is usually 1.1 times the test voltage.

4. No-load boost to verify the sensitivity of the overvoltage protection setting.

5. Turn on the power switch, the red light is on, indicating that the power is on.

6. Press the green button and the green light is on, indicating that the high voltage is turned on.

7. Adjust the voltage regulator clockwise steadily. The output terminal starts boosting from zero. After rising to the required voltage, record the reading of the ammeter according to the specified time, and check the control box and high-voltage output line for abnormalities and sounds.

8. After the voltage drop, after the voltage regulator is adjusted to zero, press the red button to cut off the high voltage, and then turn off the power switch.

9. Boost the test product for leakage and DC withstand voltage test. After checking and testing to confirm that there is no abnormality in the tester, you can start to test the test product for leakage and DC withstand voltage tester. Connect the ground wire of the test product, etc., and turn on the power after checking.

10. Boost to the required voltage or current. The boost speed is preferably a test voltage of 3-5 kV per second. When increasing the large capacitor sample, it is also necessary to monitor that the charging current of the ammeter does not exceed the large charging current of the tester. For small capacitor samples, such as zinc oxide arresters, magnetic arresters, etc., first rise to 95% of the required voltage (current), then slowly rise to the required voltage (current), and then read the voltage (current) from the digital display value. If necessary, use an external high voltage divider to compare the voltage on the control box.

11. After the test is completed, step down and turn off the power supply.
