China Power Investment Pingdingshan Luyang Power Generation Co., Ltd. is located in Lushan County, Henan Province, more than 20 kilometers away from Xincheng District of Pingdingshan City. It is controlled and constructed by China Power Investment Corporation and is the core enterprise of China Power Investment Corporation and Henan Yunan Coal and Electricity Base planning. The planned installed capacity is 6 × 1 million kilowatts. The Phase I 2 × 1 million kilowatt unit project was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission on March 4, 2008, and is scheduled to be put into operation in 2010. This project is the first million kilowatt unit project approved by China Power Investment Corporation and the Central China region, and also the first million kilowatt unit project in China to be approved through the "top-down approach". The project is about 3.5 kilometers away from the Pingmei Group mining area railway, and the Jiaozhi Railway and Provincial Highway 231 pass through the front of the factory, with convenient transportation. Located on the edge of Pingdingshan mining area, downstream of Zhaopingtai Reservoir, with abundant coal and water resources. It has advantages such as pithead power station, no occupation of national railway transportation capacity, good geological conditions, and convenient transmission. After its completion, the power plant will serve as a backbone power plant in the Central China region and is also the power plant with the largest single unit capacity, highest efficiency parameters, and good operational economy in the Central China power grid.
