Testing steps of buried cable fault tester
The cable fault tester under UHV power can help many power workers conduct various power tests more conveniently.
The main steps of the buried cable fault tester are as follows:
1. Cable faults are a natural judgment. Cable faults are mainly divided into main insulation faults and ultra-high voltage outer sheath faults. As the main insulation faults, there are mainly low resistance grounding faults, open circuit faults, leakage high resistance faults, and flashover high resistance faults. First, use a grounding insulation meter or multimeter to determine the nature of the fault using testing methods, and then measure the distance using a cable fault meter. If it is a low resistance grounding or open circuit fault, directly measure the distance using the low voltage pulse method of the cable fault meter; If it is a high resistance flashover fault, use the direct flash method to test the fault distance,
2. It's about finding the path (if the path is clear, this step can be skipped). When searching for a path, an AC signal (path signal generator) will be added to the cable. Using the principle of electromagnetic induction, the receiver receives the signal and travels along the path of the signal to determine the path of the cable.
3. The buried cable fault tester is determined based on the measurement distance. The basis is to use the sound waves generated by flashover discharge at the fault point for localization. When sound is heard from the headphones of the cable fault locator, the location of the fault point is identified, which requires extensive fault diagnosis and analysis based on experience.
