Classification of high voltage circuit breakers

Hv circuit breakers are generally divided into:


(1) Oil circuit breaker refers to a circuit breaker using transformer oil as arc extinguishing medium.


It is divided into more oil circuit breaker and less oil circuit breaker. The oil of multi-oil circuit breaker not only ACTS as the insulation of arc extinguishing medium and contact after opening, but also ACTS as the insulation of the live part to the ground. The oil of the low-oil circuit breaker is only used as the insulation of arc extinguishing medium and contact after opening, and the live part is used as the insulation of porcelain or other medium to the ground. Compared with more oil circuit breaker, less oil circuit breaker has less oil, small volume, light weight, convenient transportation and installation, is conducive to fire and other advantages. SN10-10 low - oil circuit breakers are commonly used in 6-10 kV indoor distribution units.



(2) Vacuum circuit breaker, refers to the use of vacuum high insulation strength to kill the circuit breaker. The movable and movable contacts of the circuit breaker are sealed in a vacuum bubble. Vacuum is used as arc extinguishing medium and insulating medium. It is characterized by small volume, long life and small maintenance workload, mainly used for frequent operation of the site. Common vacuum circuit breakers are ZN12-12, ZN28A - 12 indoor high voltage vacuum circuit breakers.


(3) Sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) circuit breaker: refers to the circuit breaker using SF6 gas with excellent insulation performance and arc extinguishing performance as arc extinguishing medium and insulating medium. SF6 gas is colorless, odorless, non-burning, non-toxic inert gas, its insulation capacity is about 2.5 times higher than air, and arc extinguishing capacity is up to 100 times. SF6 circuit breaker is less than low oil circuit breaker series break, which can make the manufacture, installation, commissioning and operation more convenient and economical. It is characterized by strong arc extinguishing ability, high insulation strength, large breaking current, short arc burning time, long maintenance cycle, no reignition when the capacitor current or inductance current is disconnected, low overvoltage. SF6 circuit breaker is mainly used for frequent operation and places with inflammable and explosive danger, especially for fully closed combination electric appliances. The common SF6 circuit breaker is LN2 type.
