Operation method of large current generator

A large current generator (current lifter) is a separate or integrated structure based on the output current. The product is small in size and light in weight. Large current generator (riser) also has the characteristics of output current stepless regulation, current rising balance, wide load variation range, reliable operation, simple operation and high safety. It is an ideal device for measuring current rise or temperature rise.


Large-scale current generator is a special equipment specially designed and manufactured according to the current transformer, various switches and other electrical equipment's current load test and temperature rise test in the electrical equipment test conducted by the power department and industrial and mining enterprises.

Working method of large current generator:


1. Connect the circuit according to the working principle diagram. Transformer housing and operating platform must be well grounded.


2. Switch on the power and the green indicator light on the operation console of the high current generator (current lifter) will light up. Then press the start button and the red indicator light will light up, indicating that the current lifter is waiting for the current to rise.


3. Turn the regulator clockwise so that the output current indicates the required large current. In order to ensure the test accuracy, the standard ammeter can be connected in series on the instrument rod.


4. During the test, if there is any abnormality, the power should be cut off immediately and the test should be carried out after the reason is found out.


5. After the test, the voltage regulator must be set back to zero and the power supply must be cut off by pressing the stop button; After cutting off the working power supply, the test wiring can be removed to ensure safety.


Operation specification of large current generator:


1. Connect the working circuit, transformer shell and operating platform according to the electrical schematic diagram.


2. Turn on the power supply, the green indicator light on the console will be on, press the start button, the red indicator light will be on, at this time, the current riser is waiting for the current to rise.


3. Turn the regulator clockwise and uniformly, and pay attention to the output current indication on the console until a large current is required. To ensure the test accuracy, a standard ammeter can be connected in series on the instrument terminal.


4. During the test, if any abnormal phenomenon is found, the power should be cut off immediately. And test it after finding out the cause.


5. After the test, the voltage regulator must be reset to zero. Press the stop button to cut off the power supply and the working power supply, and then the test wiring can be removed to ensure safety.


Safety precautions for using high current generators:


1. In use, the booster transformer and the operating platform must be reliably grounded. To ensure safety.


2. For newly installed and long-unused transformers, megohm meters are used to measure the insulation resistance between the coils and between the coils and the ground before operation, and when the resistance value is not less than 0.5 megohm.


3. The large current generator (current lifter) is designed for short time operation, so it is not allowed to work at the rated capacity for a long time, in particular, it is not allowed to operate above the rated current to prevent overheating.


4. The contact surface between the voltage regulator and the brush should be kept clean. As the case may be, it can be wiped with 90% alcohol dipped in cotton yarn.
