Operation of insulation resistance tester

Insulation diagnosis is an important means of detecting insulation defects or faults of electrical equipment. Insulation resistance tester is a special instrument for measuring insulation resistance. At present, electrical equipment is developing towards the development trend of large capacity, high voltage, diversified structure and sealing.

Operation wiring method of insulation resistance tester:

1) before the test, disconnect the power supply of the device under test and all external connections, then short connect, ground and discharge the object under test for 1 minute. If the capacitance is large, discharge for at least 2 minutes to avoid shock and to affect the measurement results.

2) check whether the pointer of the instrument is on infinity. Or adjust the mechanical zero screw.

Note: when adjusting the mechanical zero setting screw, the left and right adjustment amount is half circle.

3) wipe the surface dirt of the measured object with a dry, clean soft cloth. If necessary, clean the casing surface with gasoline to eliminate the influence of surface leakage current on the test results.

4) insert the high-voltage test LINE (red) into one end of the LINE and the other end of the probe or probe hook into the high-voltage conductor of the device under test. Insert the test LINE (green) into the GUARD end and connect the other end to the high-voltage protection ring of the device under test to eliminate the influence of surface leakage current. Insert another black test wire into the EARTH end and connect the other end to the shell or ground of the device under test.

Precautions for use of insulation resistance tester

1. Do not measure the circuit when the ac/dc voltage is higher than 600v.

2. Do not test in flammable places, or it may cause explosion.

3. If the surface of the instrument is wet or the operator is wet. Do not operate the instrument.

4. Do not touch the conductive part of the pen during measurement.

5. When the test wire is connected to the instrument in a short circuit, do not press the test button.

6. Do not open the battery cover during measurement.

7. During the insulation measurement, do not touch the line under test.

8. The circuit under test must be fully discharged before the resistance can be measured. And completely isolated from the power supply circuit.

9. If the test pen or power adapter is damaged and the power needs to be replaced. You must replace the same model and electrical specification of the test pen and power adapter.

10. When the battery indicator indicates that the battery is exhausted, do not use the instrument. If you do not use the instrument for a long time, please take out the battery and store it.

11. Do not store or use the instrument in high temperature, high humidity, inflammable, explosive and strong electromagnetic fields.

12. Please clean the instrument case with a wet cloth or detergent. Do not use abrasives or solvents.

13. When the instrument is wet. Please dry it before saving it.
